VINE ST. FARM

The Vine Facility is an 80 Acres farm in an adaptive re-use of a manufacturing building in downtown Hamilton Ohio. The historical designation of the property lead to unique adaptations to sustainably improve food access in an urban environment.
 

The open plan and high ceilings made this property an ideal environment to develop a multi-zoned farm focuses on the cultivation of vine crops. As an adaptive re-use project this property is an ongoing challenge to maintain an internal environment that optimizes growing conditions. By adapting mechanical systems and materials Open Architecture was able to create “clean growing zones” in a former vehicle manufacturing facility.
